Serving the people of Bradford, Harrogate, Selby and Craven Districts

If you’re out and about with someone who relies on your help because of their disability or illness, it’s worth considering the many venues and travel companies which offer free or concessionary rates for carers.

All sorts of places offer concessions but they don’t always advertise them. It’s best to phone before your visit to check on individual admissions policies and to explain the disability or illness of the person you are accompanying. You may be asked for proof of their condition.

There is more information about free entry to visitor attractions for carers on the Carers Trust website here.

Many places provide free wheelchair or motorised scooter loan for disabled visitors – it’s usually necessary to book in advance.

Max Cards is a national discount card scheme that offers free or discounted entry to a range of attractions for families of children with special educational needs and/or a disability (SEND).

If resident in Bradford Metropolitan District contact the Parents’ Forum for Bradford and Airedale to obtain a Max Card.
